I have a criminal record. Am I eligible to participate in the program?
All applicants who are sober and drug-free are welcome, and their applications will be considered. We understand that men who have served their time sometimes have difficulty locating employers who are willing to hire them.
Once your application has been accepted, then we will work with you to increase your chances of employment.
I did not graduate from high school. Can I still participate?
Yes.
I currently have a part-time job, but feel underemployed. Can I still participate?
Most likely, yes, as long as you can attend the scheduled classes.
I am not a Christian. Does The Men’s Fieldhouse accept applicants who are not Christians?
Yes. Our curriculum is Bible-based, and the study of the Bible is an essential part of our program. If you are not a Christian, this is a good opportunity to learn a little about the Bible and what it teaches about living a better life.
I don't have a car. Do you provide transportation?
Although The Men’s Fieldhouse does not provide transportation directly, please contact us to see what options there are to help you. If there is a will, there is a way and we will always do our best to help you find a way.
The Brazos Transit District Hours of service are from 5 a.m. to 7 p.m. For help or further information on the Lufkin Fixed Routes, please call 1-800-272-0039 or the Lufkin Transfer Point at 936-639-2641.
Do we place participants in jobs?
Although we are not a job placement service, we will work with you and various employers to increase your chances of employment.
Are social services are provided?
We do not directly provide social services such as clothing, medical treatment, financial assistance, daily meals, clothing, and so on.
However, we maintain strong relationships with various social service agencies and organizations and can point you in the right direction.
